Industry: Diagnostic tool for leg pain
CCMS’s core technology is a diagnostic algorithm that helps physicians identify patients with leg pain who may be suffering from vascular disease. While peripheral arterial disease and peripheral venous disease are common, particularly in people over the age of 40, these diseases often go undiagnosed. CCMS’ diagnostic helps a primary care physician refer a patient to the appropriate specialist.
To use the diagnostic, the patient completes an online questionnaire at home or in the doctor’s office. The results are screened and analyzed by the algorithm to offer an immediate recommendation to the patient’s primary care physician. The algorithm can also recommend further diagnostic testing.
CCMS is refining the diagnostic algorithm in studies at Emory University.
