Polaritek Systems

Industry: Manufacturing technology and QA

Polaritek Systems’ core technology emerged from 20 years of research and development at Georgia Tech. The company’s patented stress measurement technique, Polaritek Infrared Polariscopy (IRP), provides comprehensive stress maps and defect screening of thin, flat materials like silicon wafers, along with plastic, glass and other materials.

Enabling more efficient manufacturing, more reliable processes and better quality control, the IRP technique offers production advantages in many industries. The biggest is photovoltaic cells, which are made from silicon wafers and are essential to solar power. Another is plastic bottles and other plastic products. A third is aerospace manufacturing.
