InvisiCool has developed a gel that lessens the pain of aesthetic laser procedures. The gel contains bio-derived nanoparticles of solid-to-liquid phase change materials (PCMs), which have a high capacity to absorb heat and maintain a constant temperature. InvisiCool’s PCM gel can be applied to the skin before a laser procedure to absorb excess heat and prevent pain and skin burns.
The U.S. market for aesthetic laser procedures is projected to reach $3 billion by 2017. While the market has undergone significant growth of the past decade, many of the procedures remain extremely painful. InvisiCool’s thermal energy storage gels will make these procedures more comfortable.
