Amanda Schroeder

Vice President, Community Relations & Marketing

With years in marketing management, Amanda Schroeder knows how to build an organization’s marketing and communications program from the ground up.

Starting her career at Georgia Tech’s ATDC, Amanda first ventured into the world of startup companies, gaining insight into the unique role they play in economic development. She honed her skills by working alongside entrepreneurs and was instrumental in developing marketing strategies for several ATDC companies.

During her tenure at AutoTrader.com (now Cox Automotive), Amanda grew professionally as the company evolved from a scrappy start-up into a major enterprise. At BLiNQ Media, she was a member of the senior management team that led the enterprise to a successful acquisition by The Gannett Company.

Since 2013, Amanda has guided GRA’s branding and messaging strategy, social media presence and community outreach. As a lean organization, GRA benefits from Amanda’s can-do attitude and willingness to experiment — as do many of the entrepreneurs and innovators supported through GRA’s programs.

While brainstorming ways to showcase university research and entrepreneurship in Georgia, Amanda also keeps in close contact with local media outlets and university marketing departments.

For Amanda, the startup vibe is still ever-present, especially on her regular visits to campus labs in search of new discoveries to share with Georgia and the world. “I love working with these scientists who are tackling the biggest challenges,” she says. “I love being their champion.”

Amanda earned an MBA (with emphasis on strategy, marketing, and business development) from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, and a BBA in Marketing from Georgia State University.
