Dr. Ronald A. Johnson

Ronald Johnson became Clark Atlanta University’s fourth president in 2015.
Clark Atlanta is a private, historically black university established in 1988. It is the largest of the 37-member United Negro College Fund (UNCF) institutions.
Johnson has also held appointments at Texas Southern University and Western Carolina University. He taught at Florida A&M University, Northeastern University, Howard University and Texas Southern University.
An accomplished researcher, Johnson has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles on business education and pedagogy.
Johnson is also an accomplished businessman. He served as president and chief investment officer at Smith Graham & Company, leading a team of investment professionals and managing a $2 billion portfolio. He’s held positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the International Monetary Fund and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Johnson holds a Ph.D. and a master’s in economics from Stanford University, and an MBA in finance and a BA in economics from Adelphi University.
