Dr. G.P. (Bud) Peterson

Bud Peterson is the Georgia Institute of Technology’s 11th president. Georgia Tech is a top-10 public research university with 21,500+ students and more than $730 million in research expenditures.

Throughout his career, Peterson helped establish the national agendas for education and research, serving on numerous industry, government and academic task forces and committees.

Peterson is also a distinguished scientist. He was selected in 2008 by President George W. Bush to serve on the National Science Board through 2014.

Peterson earned undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics and a master's degree in engineering from Kansas State University. He earned his doctoral degree in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M University.
