Georgia State's rapid rise in research

And it has something no other U.S. university has...

In a remarkably short time period, Georgia State University built an impressive research enterprise.

It’s the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, and its scientists are unlocking new insights and answers to an array of diseases and ailments.

Tens of millions of dollars in research grants flow into the Institute each year, and the university is planning to expand the Institute even more on its downtown campus. In December 2018, the university announced a 6th consecutive record year of research funding — $221 million, a 273 percent increase since 2010.

This short video from GRA's "Breakthroughs" series traces the arc of Georgia State's most successful research enterprise.
