A new generation of “smart microphones” is now possible, thanks to Ergense. The company combines machine learning acoustic algorithms – implemented by near-zero power integrated circuits – with miniature MEMS circuits. The devices are capable of monitoring changes in acoustic environments for years on a single battery charge.
Similar existing products have limitations. Current smart microphones can be mistakenly activated because of conventional techniques. The more accurate digital signal processing method is relatively expensive.
Ergense’s smart mics will use 100 to 1000 times less power than existing smart microphones on the market. The market for competitors currently moves an estimated 1.3 billion units of smart microphones per year, revealing the considerable opportunity for market disruption by Ergense’s cutting-edge technology.
