Sequegenics

Industry: Gene-sequencing software

Sequegenics is developing a flexible, accurate, long-read Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) software. The software is designed to receive and analyze raw data from a sequencing machine, then upload it to an accessible and intuitive cloud platform.

With broad medicinal applicability, Sequegenics’ DNA sequencing constitutes an improvement on existing platforms, which rely on short-read NGS and often use opensource bioinformatics.

Sequegenics’ software is its own IP, first developed in the Emory Vaccine Center. The platform produces the highest level of sequence resolution among all other technologies now available on the market.

BBC Research reported in April 2020 that the global market for cloud computing in cell biology, genomics and drug development is estimated to reach $6.4 billion in 2024.
