Industry: Cardiopulmonary sensors
StethX Microsystems is developing a wearable patch and chest band to monitor cardiopulmonary health factors, aiding treatment and improving the accuracy of decision-making for hospitalizations.
The wireless patch uses proprietary MEMS technology, tracking heart and lung activity with a triaxial ACM, which captures the motion of the abdomen and thoracic cavity. The new generation of devices employs a novel low-noise and low-power IC, developed with funding from the U.S. Army.
Collaborators at Grady, Emory and the Children’s National Hospital Medical Center will allow the team to test their device and gather a large data pool. Machine learning algorithms will later analyze the data to guide further improvements.
