Passive Tactile Learning (PTL) Gloves
Industry: Music education
The last few years have seen a significant uptick in the number of people learning musical instruments, especially the piano. Piano instruction, however, is lacking, and many aspiring pianists don’t have enough time to improve their play.
These Passive Tactile Learning (PTL) Gloves, originating at Georgia Tech, are designed to expedite muscle memory by supplying vibrations to the fingers that correspond to chord shapes heard in a piece of music. The vibrations allow a practitioner to learn even when engaged in other tasks.
In communication with Ultimate Guitar and others in the industry, PTL aims to access the growing online music education market.
