Vapor Chambers for Thermal Management
Industry: Portable electronics
The proliferation of portable and wearable electronics has created a need for superior cooling technologies, especially for wearable devices.
Vapor Chambers for Thermal Management, from Georgia Tech, is project that has brought an ultra-thin (<1mm) vapor chamber technology, which regulates heat more effectively than solid materials of the same thickness. In addition, the vapor chambers are capable of electrical routing for increased design versatility.
As future generations of portable electronics enjoy higher power chips, these vapor chambers will accommodate the increased heat without increasing size, weight, or cost.
