Barry L. Storey is the principal of BLS Holdings Group, a family office that invests in thoughtfully selected companies and real estate assets.
Storey began his career in real estate as an industrial leasing associate with AFCO Realty Associates in Atlanta. In 1984, he joined NTS Development Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky and ran the Atlanta office of NTS until 1986. He relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee to join CBL and Associates, where he served as a new mall project manager and directed the development and construction of the 600,000-square-foot Lakeshore Mall in Sebring, Florida.
In 1993, Storey co-founded Hull/Storey Development (later Hull Storey Retail Group and Hull Storey Gibson Companies), which grew to own and operate over 13 million square feet of retail strip centers and enclosed mall properties across the Southeast.
Currently, he serves as a director on the boards of Synovus Financial Corporation and ArunA Biomedical.
Storey is also a trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation and currently serves on the Executive Committee as Secretary. He is also past chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Council inside UGA’s Terry College of Business. A native of Augusta, he graduated from UGA in 1982.
