With experience handling multibillion-dollar domestic and international transactions – focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances – Janine is partner-in-charge of the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird. She works with companies in a variety of sectors, including technology, media, telecommunications, renewable energy and manufacturing.
Janine's clients include public and private companies, as well as private equity funds, and she has been involved in a wide variety of domestic and international transactions. Among them: capital-raising transactions, corporate governance matters, M&A, information technology transactions, joint ventures/strategic alliances and outsourcing transactions.
Since 2001, Janine has been selected annually to The Best Lawyers in America© and has been recognized by Georgia Super Lawyers since 2004. She is a frequent lecturer on matters related to mergers and acquisitions.
Janine serves on several boards including Spelman College, a historically black college for women, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the Woodruff Arts Center, and Duke University School of Law. She is past board chair of Georgia Justice Project and Piedmont Healthcare, a nonprofit health care system. She earned a J.D., with high honors from Duke University School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree with distinction from the University of Michigan.
