John Stephenson Jr.
Vice President
Chick-fil-A
John Stephenson, Jr. serves in the Corporate Support Center of Chick-fil-A, Inc. as vice president, heading the Cathy Family Office. He joined the company in 2015 as vice president of strategic partnerships and special projects, a position he held for six years.
Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Stephenson led Atlanta Hall Management, the Georgia nonprofit that built and operated the national College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. The role involved overseeing design, funding, development and construction of the state-of-the-art, 95,000-square-foot attraction. When it opened in August 2014, the Hall of Fame was an on-time, under-budget project success, and Stephenson led its operation for the first year.
Stephenson’s role with the College Football Hall of Fame began with serving as outside legal counsel to the project through its earliest phases. At the time, he was a partner at Troutman Sanders in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Ventures and Financial Institutions practice. He joined Troutman Sanders in 2000 after completing his J.D. degree at the University of Georgia School of Law.
Stephenson serves on the board of the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission, which operates Georgia Public Broadcasting, and on the board of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In addition to his law degree, Stephenson also holds his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
