Evan Alden

Associate Director, Operations

At the center of GRA’s operations is Evan Alden, a management professional who supports our programs, finance, communications and fundraising. She plays a crucial role in engaging with GRA stakeholders in all sectors and in planning meetings throughout the year.

Evan joined GRA in summer 2024 after serving as senior program coordinator for Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University. There, she managed key projects and organized events for the center as well as for Emory’s School of Medicine, Winship Cancer Center and the Marcus Lab.

While at Emory, Evan was immersed in communications and grant-writing activities and was instrumental in procuring an NIH grant to support laboratory staff. She also completed the university’s Aspiring Leaders Program, which helps develops employees identified as having great potential for leadership. And within the School of Medicine, Evan was involved in managing and communicating Emory’s Integrated Core Facilities, a large group of shared resources for researchers at Emory and other partner schools.

Public health has been prominent in Evan’s career. While pursuing her MPH degree from the University of Georgia, she served as assistant project manager for The Council on Alcohol and Drugs, working in research, data collection, communications and grant writing. She then spent 18 months as a Fellow for CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention, during which she led data tracking and analysis and worked with partners to monitor public health outcomes.
