Charles H. (Charlie) Ogburn

Charlie Ogburn chairs the Compensation Committee for Crawford & Company, an Atlanta-based global provider of insurance claims adjusting and claims administration services; and for over 10 years, he was the company's non-executive chairman of the board. He has served on the Crawford & Company board since 2009 currently serves on the board’s Audit Committee.  

Charlie also served on the board of directors of Caribou Coffee Company, a public company until its sale to Joh. A. Benckiser & Co. of Germany in January 2013. He serves as a trustee of The Cook & Bynum Fund, an equity mutual fund based in Birmingham, Alabama, and was a member of the advisory board of Bendix-King, a subsidiary of Honeywell International, from 2012 to 2014.  

From 2001 until 2010, Charlie was executive director and global head of Corporate Investments of Arcapita Inc., an international private equity firm based in Bahrain, with operations in the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Prior to Arcapita, Charlie spent 16 years as an investment banker with The Robinson-Humphrey Company in Atlanta. He started his professional career as an attorney with King & Spalding in Atlanta.  

Charlie graduated from Duke University with a degree in management sciences and from Vanderbilt Law School. He was also co-chairman of the Duke Islamic Studies Center at Duke and was a member of the Vanderbilt Law National Alumni Council.  

In addition to the GRA board, Charlies has also served on the boards of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Trinity School.
