Dr. Steve Wrigley
University System of Georgia
In 2017, the Board of Regents named Steve Wrigley as the University System of Georgia’s 13th chancellor.
Wrigley oversees 28 public colleges and universities with an $8.4 billion annual budget, more than 48,000 faculty and staff and 320,000 students, as well as the Georgia Public Library System and the Georgia Archives.
Wrigley has held a variety of leadership positions in the University System of Georgia, which he joined in 2011. Previously, he worked in Georgia state government, including five years as chief of staff to Governor Zell Miller.
He serves on the Alliance of Education Agency Heads and is a member of the board of the Georgia Wildlife Federation.
Wrigley earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and his doctorate in history from Northwestern University.
