Pat Wilson

Commissioner
Georgia Department of Economic Development

In 2016, Governor Nathan Deal appointed Pat Wilson as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), the state agency that creates jobs and investment opportunities in Georgia.

Between 2011 and 2016, Wilson served as GDEcD’s Chief Operating Officer. He managed daily operations, directed long-term strategy and handled budget and personnel issues.

Wilson was also Executive Director of the Georgia Allies, a public-private marketing partnership between state government and 15 private corporations.

Wilson held leadership positions on Governor Sonny Perdue’s staff. His work for Perdue took him to Washington, D.C., where he advocated for Georgia’s interests with Congress and federal agencies.
