Chairman, CEO and President
As President, Chairman and CEO of Synovus, a $62 billion asset bank founded in 1888, Blair leads a team focused on accelerating growth in loans, deposits, profits and shareholder value by growing relationships with clients.
Under his leadership, Synovus prioritizes aspects of the business that improve relationships with clients: ease of doing business; seamless delivery; advice and guidance; and empowering team members to make a difference.
Blair became President and CEO in April 2021 and was appointed Chairman of the Board in January 2023. He joined the company in August 2016 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Two years later, he was appointed Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and was named President in December 2019.
Blair’s financial services career began at Signet Bank in Richmond, Va. in 1995 and includes leadership in such areas as corporate strategy, line management, strategic finance and credit risk management.
In addition to serving as a GRA Trustee, Blair is on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Metro Atlanta Chamber and Columbus Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a director on the boards of the Georgia Historical Society, the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation and United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.
Blair earned a B.B.A. degree from James Madison University and an MBA from George Washington University.
