Emory’s remarkable HIV journey
A national center celebrates a major milestone
The recent national call to end the transmission of HIV/AIDS in the U.S. by 2030 underscores the value of scientific research. Indeed, we have our nation’s universities to thank for many of the gains made in recent years in the fight against this horrific disease.
That includes Emory University, home to an NIH-designated “Center for AIDS Research.” In its 20-plus years, the center has made extraordinary advances in knowledge and treatment of HIV/AIDS. And GRA is proud to have supported several facets of the center’s work.
The picture below illustrates a few milestones in this remarkable journey. To learn more about Emory University’s commitment to — and success in — fighting HIV/AIDS, see what President Claire Sterk has to say.
